This is not intended to poke fun at, mock, or disrespect the protests in any way, shape, or form. I firmly believe it is our right to stand up and fight back against oppression and tyranny. This song is meant to embody my anger towards all the hate, bigotry, and just generally terrible people of this world.
I don't pretend to know the answers, but I can at least try to understand.
While I might not be able to attend the protests for various reasons, I still wish to support those who are fighting justice. As a musician, I can do so by doing what I do: creating music.
Normally, my music is pay what you want with a minimum of $0. However, this song will be free. Anyone, and everyone, can have this. I would personally feel wrong taking your money when you could be giving it to any number of the bail funds. So go give them your money, and take this song for free.
To quote a Caligula's Horse song (well, poem):
One proud voice in the panic, he called out,
“Son, if you're going to cry then cry havoc!”
Streamlining their post-metal sprawl through a sharper melodic focus, the Scottish juggernauts' third LP is labyrinthine yet approachable. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 25, 2024
